but its not 2015 anymore
using too much technology can make us forget every thing just like zuker he even forgot the hotel he stayed right before the day he gotinfront of senet
I am G-11 computer science student from PAKISTAN and want to continue my career in AI and I am quite inspired by making computers take decisions and predictions i agree with every thing these 2 people said but now I want to tell you guys who are in my comment Tell me what ll gonna happen if robots get any issue or may be some 1 spreads virus or program them in the was that the robots go for destruction in all around the world just think about it we are using AI in the future for almost every think related to basic human needs i mean in every field but we should think about it that if we use AI in every field we may face issues related to unemployment and stuffs so I think we should use the AI and ROBOTS to make humans life easy but I think making robots in large number and trying to think that once AI will completely launched it will be good for every thing but I think we are doing a big mistake if we use AI in every field it can get big crises to us so thanks for those if u have read my comment and i would like if some 1 wants to have a conversation with me about AI and ROBOTICS
WITH thanks SHERYAR KARIM
What a waste of time. AI is advancing, human intelligence is going the other way
39:00 I don't remember where I saw this article, however, a primary dataset used for facial recognition is an art collection in the library of congress pictures of primarily caucasian presidents and Jesus.
23:00 Zuckerberg said he wasn't comfortable sharing it with the room but it was implied that his company when it has such information about others would share it with advertisement companies and others who have paid him for it! That others also do not wish him to share their personal information with AI data filtering algorithms. Regardless of the permission to do so being given under agreement via terms and condition.
The government are not the philosophers who are not the programmers. The government orders for engineering and development in this sector is a few decades old now. The development teams are not about to hire philosophers to debate restrictions on their code slowing development. Slow development is bad for business against the bottom line, profit. It removes a company from the race for growth. So the ethics of AI is out of the loop of development.
If you're wanting to hear anything about AI the effects and benefits don't watch this.
No debate about racism! Only a fool lives in a world that's not black and white.
Unfortunately, they didn't talk much about A.I but more on other un-related topics, those aren't really experts.
AI doesn't exist yet, and like the TRUE GOD, no one can agree.
Joy's point is too basic, they could have brought in better guest
so this co called connecter.. what is his role..he adds nothing to the debate.. what is the the point of him?
Interesting.
Not insight full rebate .it is advertising artificial intelligence
Technology has a great potential to reform our world in many ways but human being need to learn how to use it
Dude! I think Nick Bostrom is the most knowledgeable and credible person here, other people are just talking about AI without defining specifically what kind AI they're talking about, of course we cant expect everyone to be experts, as AI is only at its infant stage (even experts can be clueless about their future predictions, look at the Internet in 1990s). I think it is almost impossible to predict the "long term" context because we wont know or even conceive of AIs potential (watch Sam Harris ted talk about it), because at a certain point I think AI can replicate thousands years of human evolution in a milisecond with enough computing power. I think Nick wont even know too, he answered : "We should work together", a very basic answer, merely a replacement for IDK. So I think its best to focus on short term first.
These things are only in movies. In the real world, science does not make jumps; it is a continuous series of small technical improvements and innovations that we will start seeing over the next few years. We will see: AI penetrating old products that we know and making them better, enabling new types of simple products that were not feasible before. See this interesting article:-

I am African and a student of Computer Science. I appreciate the points brought up in this debate but I do not feel that it tackled the technical issues of machine learning or any of AI safety and morality research which I hoped to hear. It was more of a political debate which is just as important but in a sense dissatisfying for the audience. As for the problem of bias in AI systems, I think we blacks especially need to stop complaining and start building technologies that reflect our demographic and values. You cannot have a person build a technology based on his/her culture and expect it to reflect yours. We need to come together; the smart and industrious young minds of Africa and build technologies that suit our values and stop depending on the western world for innovation and then complain when these technologies are biased. It is true that there are some socio-political and economic obstacles in our way as well as international control/ subjugation and the aftermath of exploitations that setback our continent; but I believe we can get past that and build our continent if we as Africans are ready to cooperate in the sciences, tech and business rather than politics and activism. This goes for black America as well.
Why does everyone in this comments section seem slightly retarded? Almost like….AI.
Book of Revelation brought me here
Book of Revelation brought me here

Is it me…or did everyone looked afraid of the guys in white
Answer is 'D'

Both these women are like…….. don't need to be here cause there like not even representing a diversity correctly
Nelufar has large breasts.
So Truistic :')
tech industry shuld be leaders
T_D is leaking. Why is this comment section so toxic? Debate seems insightful.
HAHAHAHAHA… WHAT? WHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?! This is what the debate has evolved to? I was thinking this was something from 2010… this makes me feel we literally knew more about A.I 10 years ago but I shouldnt judge the field from one debate but god this is embarrasing… this is laughable…
Doha debates higly resembles World Economic Forum.
When the stage is bigger than you. The speakers are innocent, I mean they know not a thing. When you google to do your assignment defined in practical terms.
As long as feminism or other corruptions aren't allowed to stunt Africa's growth, she will thrive.
Look how manic and crazy the thinking of the feminist in red, avoid that being a powerful influence in your countries.
Only Nick Bostrom is a big name. The rest are effectively unknown and are probably invited for "diversity purposes"…
Timeliness and suitable debate on AI, thanks for whole team who involved in this awesome task.
Interesting times
Is there any peer reviewed objective research statics to prove, AI systems inherently biased compared to human counterparts? Will the AI in a black African country discriminate against the darker skin person to a lighter skin person or is it happen in the other way round? Should people balme AI as bias when their Politically Correct views negated by it?
